This is a highly specialist arm of our ability to treat and control bed bugs in particular, though it should be noted heat treatments can be used to successfully treat a wide range of insect pests. Over the past 15 years the incidence and spread of bed bugs has been increasing at an exponential rate. There are a myriad of reasons for this to include an increase in air travel, known resistance to approved insecticides to name just two but in truth no one really knows. However what is certain is this problem is here to stay for the foreseeable future and the traditional reliance of insecticidal applications as the only form of treatment is unsatisfactory.
We have taken the decision to offer an integrated system which is designed to detect and then eradicate the infestation at its earliest stage thereby minimising our risk of litigation and minimising your liability.
This system which incorporates recent innovations of heat treatments and canine detection is NOT designed to replace insecticidal treatments but rather to be incorporated as a total package.
Heat Treatments
The purpose of this work is to control hidden infestations of bed bugs that are inaccessible to conventional insecticidal treatments. Such treatments are backed up by an extremely detailed Risk Assessment and Method Statement and the essence of the work is to maintain temperatures of 52 C for a critical time period which has the effect of denaturing the proteins and enzymes essential for the survival of the target insect pest.
Canine Detection
This extremely interesting innovation is an essential tool in the business of preventing the spread of bed bug infestations. All dogs are trained specifically to the unique scent of live bed bugs and their eggs. They are capable of surveying 300 rooms in one day and are proven to be 90% accurate in detecting infestations.
Our modern and innovative approach, to a complex and ever increasing problem.
